Filming In Wellington NZ

Wellington Life

Located in the centre of New Zealand, this sophisticated, vibrant city offers a safe, relaxed lifestyle alongside its role as the cultural and political capital.

Restaurants, bars and cafes feature heavily in the lives of Wellingtonians, and when the sun goes down the place vibrates with nightlife. With a host of cinema screens, theatres, and galleries, Wellington is home to the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Royal New Zealand Ballet, National Opera, Te Papa Tongarewa the national museum and the national dance and drama schools. There is also a fantastic sports stadium which hosts international rugby, cricket, concerts and events.

Among the shows featured in Wellington every year are the amazing Montana World of WearableArt™ Awards Show, the Fringe Festival and of course the New Zealand International Film Festival to name a few. Some of the fabulous biennial shows are the famous New Zealand International Arts Festival and Cuba Street Carnival.

Getting to work is easy. With a city centre only two kilometers in diameter, most destinations are within walking distance. A car can cross town in little more than ten minutes, however more people use public transport in Wellington than anywhere else in New Zealand.

For the adventurous there is a choice of abseiling, windsurfing, whitewater rafting, and mountain biking, tramping and sailing – all within easy reach of the city.

With so much to offer, it’s easy to see why Wellington was voted the 18th hottest city in the world by Conde Naste Traveller magazine readers, 2004.
