Park Road Post
Park Road Post is the world’s most welcoming post production destination. It houses a unique combination of services; from a world class laboratory, through telecine, digital intermediate and HD post production, to Academy Award® winning sound post production.
To have all of these services, at such a high standard, under one roof, is rare in the screen production world today. Our aim has been to create an environment that is very special, and then act as facilitators for each client’s own unique creative experience. To this end we’ve incorporated an uncompromised level of comfort and customer service.
LABORATORY SERVICES
We have a full service laboratory that will take the utmost care of your film, from negative processing ( 16mm & 35mm, black & white and colour) through dailies and post-production to release print.
Our lab was the first in the world to achieve Kodak’s Imagecare accreditation, assuring the quality and consistency of processing and handling.
TELECINE & DIGITAL INTERMEDIATE
Unique Workflow & Creative Power.
For film scanning, it’s hard to go past Park Road Post’s offering from Spirit and Arri Scan as a starting point in our digital intermediate workflow. Online conforming and editing takes place in our Quantel iQ suite.
Park Road Post then opens up a versatile and flexible toolbox at the colour grade stage, with the Quantel QColor, Pandora and Lustre systems available at this crucial part of the creative process.
Film output is via Arri Laser.
Our digital deliverables workflow makes short work of SD and HD output for for distribution in all standards and formats.
2K Grading Theatre
Our 2K grading theatre is equipped with a Barco DP100, projecting onto a 6 metre screen at 2:2.35.
As well as grading, the Quantel iQ can be brought in, allowing editors to view HD and 2K conforms projected for the first time at this resolution.
For productions originating in HD the 2K theatre is an ideal venue for viewing dailies.
SOUND

Park Road Post boasts an experienced team who have mixed all of the major feature films produced in New Zealand, and then some. From Once Were Warriors to The World’s Fastest Indian to the Academy Award® winning The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong
Editing & Tracklaying
We have a range of rooms from a small single suite to a fully equipped Pro Tools 5.1 design room), server linked to our mix stages. Park Road Post has developed solid working relationships with a number of extremely experienced sound designers and tracklayers from within New Zealand as well as overseas.
Foley
Our Foley department is staffed with experienced recordists and performers who are accustomed to working on large scale film and television projects.
ADR
Our ADR stage features large screen digital picture playback with streamer cuing system for fast and accurate placement of dialogue.
Dubbing Theatres
Park Road Post has three dubbing theatres; two larger theatres featuring fully automated 274 channel Euphonix System 5 consoles and a smaller theatre which has a 70 channel System 5 console. Purpose-built producers’ offices attached to the theatres are complemented by client lounges for the production’s exclusive use.
