Film Wellington is the most experienced film office in NZ. We’ve worked with producers and directors from all over our country and from all over the world, helping them to film documentaries, fashion shoots, feature films, movies, music videos, television commercials, dramas, comedies, right here in Wellington, New Zealand.
We’ve got the people. We’ve got the passion. We’ve even got the permits you need to make filming in Wellington easy.
What we do
At Film Wellington we collect, process and approve all permits to film in and around Wellington City. Usually within 24-48 hours.
But we don’t just rubber stamp the paper work. We’ll offer any support you need while you’re filming in our beautiful city.
With ten years of experience, we’re well placed to set you up with any crew, equipment, and facilities you need. We can join you on recces so you will have first hand information before you make your decision on the location you use. We’ll even go out on location with you, so our help is always at hand.
No other film office in New Zealand can provide that level of service.
Projects we’ve helped along range from mega-productions like The Lord of the Rings and King Kong, to cult classics like The Irrefutable Truth About Demons and Black Sheep.
We’ve also become experts in facilitating TV commercials – especially car ads. There’s something about Wellington’s architecture and scenery that makes our roads a hot location for automotive advertisers.
Film Wellington New Zealand is a member of the AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International). We market the resources of the Wellington Region's screen industry and locations. We also have a close marketing alliance with Film South New Zealand, who cover Canterbury and the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island.
